ABOUT
Your body is amazing and with dedication, you can build muscle quickly. While having a gymnastics and dance background is helpful and would give you an advantage, you certainly do not need any such background. You just need a positive attitude and the desire to do and be your best! I'll give you the tools and lead the way, you do the work and be prepared to be in awe of what you can accomplish.
Pole Fitness classes are offered all week long and there are many different types of classes to chose from.
-
Beginner Pole Fitness Class: Fitness class focussed on building strength and teaching the fundamentals of the competitive sport
-
Intermediate Pole Fitness Class: Fitness class focussed on building strength and teaching the more advanced pole transitions and tricks.
-
Low Flow Dance Class: Dance class focussed on the movement around the pole and on the floor. Any level is welcome - beginner to advanced. This class is meant to be fun, sexy and confidence building.
-
Roller Poler Fitness Class: Fitness class focussed on building strength and the pure joy of gliding around on skates while spinning with the help of our poles. Skates
are worn for the full class. You must already know how to skate and you must bring your own skates- skates will not be provided - Open Pole: This class if available for active students. It is a non-instructional class. You must have your own plan for this class and already know enough of the basics to keep busy:)

Hello! I'm a wife and a mum of 6 beautiful children. I've always been involved in fitness in some way or another; be it hiking with a kid on my back while pushing a double jogger...or biking... or CrossFit classes... I've always enjoyed working hard and seeing the power in an active lifestyle.
I began my pole journey in 2013, at the age of 39. Curiosity got me and I tried a local studio out with a friend. I think we both thought it was going to be a silly adventure where we slinked around a pole. Boy were we wrong! This is a true full body sport and we were hooked immediately. I'd never been a part of something so empowering. I found myself wanting to achieve more technique and strength.
This sport is perfect for the person that is willing to work hard for results. I was committed and week after week, I saw progress. About a year after I began my pole journey, I began teaching at Perkins School of the Arts in Endicott, NY. After two years in their studio, they moved and no longer had a space for Pole Fitness. With students that wanted to continue to train with me, I began a new journey in my own studio, Pole Strong Fitness and Dance Studio, in the fall of 2016.

Meet Pole Strong's Pole Family

"I am currently going to Mansfield University for Radiology and eventually want to be a Radiation Therapist. Because my program is through Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, I am able to attend pole class at Pole Strong Fitness and Dance Studio. I started pole in the summer of 2017 and I couldn't be happier that I did. I went with my friend because we were on a roll of trying new stuff, so we thought it looked awesome! And it is. I wanted to go back immediately! After my first class I was already in love with it. I was only going once a week, and then I realized that just wasn't enough. I kept working up to it and I now go 3-4 times a week! I love it. I remember being a beginner looking at all these girls and the amazing things they could do, thinking I want to do that someday. Now I can, and I just keep seeing progress. Pole has helped my confidence a ton. I always felt embarrassed trying to do sexy moves in a dance routine, and now it all just comes naturally. I can now look in the mirror and be happy with what I see. I'm stronger than I ever was mentally and physically! Andi's studio is amazing, it's small but perfect because then she can work one on one with me! I'm not one to understand things or get things on the first try, or even the second or third, but she is so patient with me. I have a lot of anxiety and get nervous at times, and she pushed me through it to get to my goals. I can't thank her enough for everything she's done for me in the last 8 months."

"When I'm in the studio, it's an emotional release. It's a place where I can let go of the stress of everyday lift. A place to create, a place to grow, a place where I feel empowered.'

"Hey, I'm JamieLynn!
I've been doing pole on and off since 2012. I've been with Andi at Pole Strong since 2016. I'm a Phlebotomist by trade and joke I only have a day job to pay for my pole fitness addiction:) I am also a Zumba instructor - my mom and I teach together. We also do pole fitness together. I was a competitive gymnast for 9yrs. I love to dance. Hip hop and burlesque are my favorite styles.I love to perform. My favorite pole tricks are elbow grip Ayesha and flatline. I love my pole family and have made some amazing friends through pole.
I love my sport <3"

"I have been involved in sports and fitness all of my life. I've been teaching all different formats of fitness classes for over 30 years. Currently, I'm teaching Zumba. I'm always looking for new and different forms of exercise. Pole fitness is amazing, a total body workout and is so empowering. Some days it mades me feel young and other days it makes me feel old, but it always makes me feel so happy and good about myself. Andi at Pole Strong Fitness and Dance Studio is such an excellent instructor. She makes you feel so comfortable no matter what size you are, no matter your age (I'm 56), and no matter your skill level. She teaches you to trust your body and reminds you how much fun it is to just play."

"The 411: My name is Doreen Nieves. I am 27 years old; I'd like to say I'm in my prime. #Roarin_twenties I am a special education teacher in an 8:1:1 classroom with students in third, fourth, and fifth grade. I have been teaching in special education for over 5yrs.

Why Pole: I've always had a special individualized rhythm, all of my own. When I dance, it feels natural...like all of my problems melt away. I don't feel like the girl who is self-conscious about everything and anything. I feel proud of my body and my abilities. #Proud_Lady #Hear_Me_Roar

Pole Benefits: Since I've been dancing, I have become exceptionally strong! I mean I can carry all my books in without help! All joking aside, I have been able to play outside with my kids on the playground. I was even able to show my students how to climb the jungle gym, do the monkey bars and even do summersaults. Things I have never been able to do before! #summersaulting_teacher

Pole made me a more determined and confident woman. The stars are the limit for you!"

"I started attending Pole Strong Fitness & Dance Studio at a time in my life when I was struggling with my weight. I was looking for different workouts and going to the gym on a daily basis. My first pole class was in March of 2017. I was anxious at first because I still felt uncomfortable with my body and I was terrified of falling to the floor. From the beginning, Andi Mead has been a wonderful instructor who has always believed in me and forced me to get out of my comfort zone. Between the gym and pole fitness I was able to lose the weight I wanted and my confidence has increased tremendously. I look forward to going to class at least three times a week. There is always something new to learn and different ways to do basically any move. If you are looking for a fun, total body workout that will make you feel beautiful in your skin, then Pole Strong Fitness & Dance Studio is for you!"
